COMMONWEALTH of VIRGINIA Office of the Governor Timothy M. Kaine March 31, 2009 Dear Friends: On behalf of the Commonwealth of Virginia, please accept my sincerest gratitude for your efforts in the 2009 Marathon Dance, Dancing Together ... Changing Lives Forever" at Deep Run High School in Glen Allen. I commend the students for their hard work and dedication towards this event. For three years now, you have found an enjoyable and unique way to contribute to local charities. You have eased the burden of the many dedicated men and women at these organizations. While attending law school, I spent a year working with missionaries in Honduras. There, I came to understand the profound difference every individual can make through service. Each of us has something to offer, and I hope that your participation in this Marathon Dance leads you to a life focused on helping people and I also commend the parents, teachers and administrators who helped these children make this event such a wonderful success. In particular, I would like to thank Mrs. Kathleen Bushman for bringing this event to Deep Run High School. These students need not look far for exemplary characters. Their schools and neighborhoods abound with them. Congratulations on such a successful event, and I look forward to hearing about the many successes of the Marathon Dance for many years to come!
